Viola Callanen is a 4th-grade teacher at Lemon Road Elementary. Viola received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University in Los Ángeles where she also played on the women’s basketball team. She graduated from Pepperdine University with a Master's in Elementary Education in 2004.
Viola began teaching in Fairfax County in 2020 and is beginning her 15th year as an educator. She believes in creating a student-centered learning environment in which students continually grow and learn together. She is dedicated to providing an engaging learning experience and values the family as an integral part of a student’s academic success.
For fun, Viola enjoys playing golf, taking long walks, reading, and watching movies. She grew up in Tucson, AZ, and enjoys traveling out west often to visit her family and friends. Outside of school, Viola enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She looks forward to another great year - Go Lions!
